Sweepstakes casinos are open in most of the United States, closed by statute in a growing list of states, and closed in practice in a few more where operators choose not to accept players. This page is the list we use to gate every link on the site. We update it monthly and whenever a law takes effect.

Open, with operator-level exceptions
Every other state and the District of Columbia is open at most operators, but each operator keeps its own exclusion list in its official rules. Some exclude Delaware, Kentucky, Maryland or North Carolina. Our reviews list each operator's exclusions, and the state picker on every list checks both this page and the operator's list.
How we keep this page honest
- We read the enacted statute or the regulator's notice, not a news summary, before marking a state closed by law.
- "Closed in practice" means every operator we list excludes the state, whatever the statute says.
- Our redirect checks your location at the moment you click. If your state is on this list we show you a page that says so instead of sending you on.
This page is general information, not legal advice. Laws change; check the operator's official rules and your state's regulator before you play.
